Find out more information about the hit Smash and the cast and characters.
If you love Glee and Musicals then you're highly likely to enjoy the much aniticipated TV show coming to NBC called Smash.
Suprisingly, Steven Spielberg is the Executive Producer on Smash. Not a typical Spielberg project but it is set to be a huge hit.
Smash is all about a young actress/singer called Karen Cartwright, played by former American Idol runner up Katherine McPhee, that goes for auditions but nothing ever seems to click. That is until she performs infront of a board consisting of Debra Messing, Angelica Houston and Jack Davenport, for the part of Marilyn Monroe. The panel loves her but there's someone else they also have in mind for the part of Marilyn.
Karen has to prove her stuff against an older and more experienced competitor who wants the role as much as she does.
Along the way there will be songs, acting, flirting and more drama than you can imagine as you see exactly what goes on behind the scenes of putting a Musical together.

Are You There, Chelsea?
Are You There, Chelsea? to aired on NBC on the 11th of January 2012 is set to be hilarious. After watching the trailer this is one comedy TvVshow that i just had to add to my viewing schedule.
I have no idea what I could compare this too but I found it hilarious. It's almost like American Pie but for girls I guess.
The show is based on the best selling book by Chelsea Handler about a 20 year old woman trying to get through her everyday life.
It makes sense that the character Chelsea works in a bar, after all she calls God Vodka.
Hopefully, this show will last a while before Last Orders are called because I think it's about time we had some more humour just for the ladies.

What they find is unexpected and strange. Something dark, strange and magical is going on. They uncover something trapped within the boat and all hell breaks lose.

Jane By Design
Jane By Design follows the typical ABC Family formula, which has led to many of it's successes. It first aired on the 3rd of January 2012.
Jane Quimby is a young teenager, still at high school struggling with her personal life. Her Dad died, Mom's missing and her Brother is her legal Guardian. Her older brother was popular at high school and a hit with the ladies. Now he's down on his luck and can't get a job.
Jane is smart but stands of the periphery, never getting involved.
Jane finds out that her brother is behind on the mortgage and decides to get a job to help out. Jane goes for an interview at a Design House as an intern, but there's a mix up and she ends up being the personal assistant to an International Buyer and the Boss - Gray.
Gray is played by Andie McDowell and is very similar to role played by Merill Streep in The Devil Wears Prada.
Jane has to juggle school, work, office politics and her general place in the world if she has any chance of getting a fully paid ticket to College.

Life's Too Short
Ricky Jervais has come a long way since his popular sitcom in the UK called The Office.
His latest new TV show follows a similar format to An Idiot Abroad mixed with Extra's. In Life's Too Short, aired on HBO on the 19th of February 2012, expect a number of cameo's from stars such as Johnny Depp. I don't wish to spoil the show by telling every famous person that will appear, but suffice it to say there will be a few.
The show follows the lead actor Warwick Davis, who plays himself in this sattirical program. For those who don't know of Warwick Davis, he's a very short man, commonly known as a Human Dwarf. The show centers around his life and the funny and embarassing situations he finds himself in because of his stature.
In some places the show is hysterical but at other times it can actually feel embarassing to watch.

Touch
Touch promises to be an interesting new TV show on Fox. There was a special preview on January the 25th 2012 but it won't actually make it's debut until the 19th of March.
Kiefer Sutherland plays a loving father who has a special son that has never spoken, which is interesting when it's clear he's the narator of the trailer below.
His son is about 10 years old and does some pretty strange stuff. He climbs a cell tower at 3.18 every time. His father thinks it means something and searches out a professor who can possibly help him. Danny Glover is that professor and has seen kids like this before.
In some ways it's similar to 24 in that everything is connected. Tim Kring is the creater of Touch and it does have a Heroes feel to it. Like the boy has a special power that his father is trying to undertand and decipher.

House of Lies
Funny man Don Cheadle is the star of House of Lies and is a comedy featuring Kristen Bell and Ben Schwartz.
Don Cheadle plays the role of Marty who is kinda sleazy, funny, charming and crude all at the same time. Marty is a highly succesful management consultant that will do anything to close the deal. Whatever the client wants, he'll get it done.
It has a very Ocean's Eleven feel to the whoole thing with a lot of comedy thrown into the mix as well.
It also has a very silly McBeal feel to it, and that show was very successful. You can watch House of Lies on Showtime from the 8th of January, 2012 onwards.
Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of what's to come.

Good Christian Belles (GCB)
Good Christian Belles, or GCB for short, could be the next Desperate Housewives. It's funny, it's ironic and it premiered on ABC on March the 4th 2012.
GCB revolves around a woman in the midst of a lie changing event and has 2 kids. After the death of her husband and the scandal of his fraud, she decides she and her kids need a fresh start and packs up and moves back to her home town in Dallas, Texas.
We find out she used to be a "Mean Girl" at high school and now she's back the other girls from high school remember her, and not fondly. Although she has changed, little has changed in Dallas and she finds herself in the middle of a bunch of bitchy ladies, but since they are Good Christian Belles, they can't just come out and say what they mean.
Expect a number of laughs, especially when Kristin Chenoweth delivers her lines. When she says her dirty lines she looks like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth and you can actually hear the halo above her head.
The Trailer says it all.

Napolean Dynamite
What can I say about this TV show?
This animated series isn't for kids. It's a TV adaption of the hit movie.
For those of you who have never seen the movie, it's about a weird high school kid and the weird things he get's up to in Idaho. Think Beavis and Butthead mixed with South Park.
To be fair, this is probably aimed more towards a male audience. And girls if you didn't find it funny, don't worry about it because I didn't either. However, I had to add it to the list because all my male friends seem to think it's hilarious.
Look out for Napolean Dynamite arriving on Fox on January 15th, 2012.

Great hub! I am really looking forward to 'The River' and 'Touch' (especially after last week's preview). Others, that have already premiered, didn't impress me much at all, such as 'Napoleon Dynamite', 'Are You There, Chelsea' and 'House Of Lies'.
Voted up, useful and Shared!
You're right, I forgot to mention Smash! And well, 'Are You There, Chelsea' has some funny moments, but it just feels like there isn't really a story, it's just a static setting.
This is fantastic, loved the preview summaries and the trailers. You've just given me a whole lotta new shows to watch out for. Thank you. From the trailers I loved 'Touch', 'Smash' and 'Alcatraz' as well as 'Chelsea' and 'House of lies'.
Smash is a great show. The River is creepy, but so good. And I can't wait to start watching Touch; I watched the preview episode On Demand and it was incredible. This is a great list!
I saw Awake and totally loved the show. Extremely thought provoking and very clever. I think this is one of the best TV shows I've seen in a while. I just hope they can keep up the quality.
This was a great hub! Thanks for the reviews!
Person of Interest is the best thing to happen on tv in 2012

Nice research. I am super excited for Alcatraz, House of Lies, and Life's Too Short. I cannot believe they made a Napoleon Dynamite show. I am thinking it will be a miracle if it is decent. Cool Hub
