Superhero Movies 2013 - The Best Upcoming Superhero Movies 2013
2013 Superhero Movies
Every year there are new Superhero movies released and 2013 is no different. In fact, this year there are a number of sequels being released that will have superhero fans dying to go to the cinema and see their favorite Superhero in 3D action.
The 2013 Superhero movies include Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 - The Dark World. However, one of the most anticipated upcoming Superhero movies of 2013 has to be the reboot of Superman - Man of Steel.
Please continue reading to discover the Superhero movies list 2013 below. You can also share your opinion of which will be the best superhero movies!
I you love Superhero movies the you might also like the top 10 animated movies 2013 and the best fantasy movies 2013.
Iron Man 3
Release Date: May 3rd 2013
Genre: Superhero/Action/Sciemce-Fiction
Starring: Robert Downey Jr, Gwenyth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley
Synopsis: In Iron Man 3 it's not so much about saving the world as it is about saving the woman he loves. You see, Tony Stark has pissed off some people, however one person has decided the best payback isn't to destroy Tony Stark. He realizes that he'll hurt him more by taking away everything he loves.
Unfortunetely, Tony Stark doesn't see the attack coming until it is too late. Pepper Pots is kidnapped and most of the Iron Man suits are destroyed in the attack. He'll have to regroup and come up with a way to get Pepper Pots back, but he doesn't have much time.
On top of this, you have a new super villain in the form of Ben Kingsley. Of course he has a few people in his evil camp, including a villain played by Guy Pearce.
It will also be interesting to see what funny man Don Cheadle will bring to the table in Iron Man 3.
Iron Man 3 is on my list of most anticipated movies in 2013.
Superman - Man of Steel
Release Date: June 14th 2013
Genre: Superhero/Action/Science-Fiction
Starring: Henry Cavill, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe and Diane Lane
Synopsis: After the general failure of the previous Superman film, it's no surprise that the role of Superman has been recast and has now been earned by British actor Henry Cavill. For those that don't know Henry Cavill, don't worry he isn't new to the screen. He played the cacanova brother in law in the Tudors, he was Tristen's tormentor in Stardust and most recently he played the lead of Theseus in Immortals. He also has the Christopher Reeves Superman look, with dark wavy hair and a decent build.
After the last Superman film, hopefully the only way is up and Henry Cavill might just be the ticket to achieve that. Oh and is that a new Superman outfit?
The new Superman film isn't really a follow on from the previous movies. It's more of a reboot and will follow the same general premise; strange meteor lands containing a boy, boy growns up with super powers and his father guides him. However, the new Superman - Man of Steel movie is also looking to take a modern twist and you're likely to see a lot of inner turmoil from our hero character.
This time, it's up to Superman what he'll do and how he'll try to protect those he loves from Zod.
I have to say that the trailer below is fairly simple and doesn't show very much of the upcoming Superman film. However, it is very emotion because of the music that has been chosen to accompany the trailer.
For me, the music evoked feelings of sadness and I have to admit to feeling teary eyed. The music reminded me of when the Hobbits go to meet the Elves in Lord of the Rings and it also reminded me of when Maximus, played by Russell Crowe, died and imagined the wheat fields at his home and being reunited with his dead wife and son. Perhaps this was accentuated as Russell Crowe is the narrator on the Superman trailer below.
This is the best of the 2013 Superhero movies that I am most looking forward to. Superman was always the ultimate superhero and I would love to see a come back that audiences could really get behind. Also, Henry Cavill is some great eye candy!
Wolverine 2 - The Wolverine
Release Date: July 26th 2013
Genre: Superhero/Science-Fiction/Adventure/Action
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee and Svetlana Khodchenkova
Synopsis: In the first Wolverine movie, X-men fans discovered the origins of Wolverine and how he got his adamantium claws. They found out how he heals so fast and also that he once had a brother in arms. The government experimented on them and then cut them loose when they realized they weren't controllable.
Although the details of Wolverine 2 - The Wolverine have been closely guarded so far, it's clear there is a lot yet to film for the movie due out in summer 2013. However, so far we have managed to hear rumors that the story will remain true to the mythology of the comics.
As a result, expect to see Wolverine in Japan. This is where he learns a lot of his moves and we'll probably get to see him facing off against some of the Yakuzza. I think the fight sequences will be spectacular, especially since this will be the first time audiences can see the Wolverine in 3D.
Can you imagine those steel blades coming out of his hands towards you as you sit in the audience. I think 3D could work really well for the Wolverine if it is done intelligently and isn't just all about the action or fighting scenes.
Thor 2 - The Dark World
Release Date: November 8th 2013
Genre: Superhero/Action/Adventure/Fantasy
Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins and Tom Hiddleston
Synopsis: Thor continues to champion peace across the known universe, while his brother Loki is locked up for his past transgressions. However, Thor goes on a special mission, some might say a mission of vengeance, after his home world is attacked and his mother is killed. Only Loki knowns how to locate this enemy and might know how to defeat them.
However, Thor will have to patch up his differences with his brother and try and trust him to destroy the evil darkness that is trying to take over the 9 realms that Thor is sworn to protect. This is a journey of 2 brothers, and some close friends, in search of a light at the end of a dark tunnel.
In the end, the answers Thor is looking for may lie with Jane Foster. Perhaps a human is what will save Thor, instead of Thor saving us once again. And perhaps Loki will show where his loyalties really lie - with his family or where he can get the most power. Let's just say that Thor will have to watch his back.
This film is also likely to be very popular with teenager and for this reasons is also on the new kids movies 2013 list.
Other Superhero Movies
There are other superhero movies due out in 2013 including Kick-Ass 2. I haven't added it to the list of the best superhero movies 2013 as Hit Girl isn't going to be in it as much and it looks like it may fall flatter than the first one did.
